Charles Grover, 1842 - 1921
Summary
Charles Grover (1842 - 1921) was an enthusiastic and resourceful amateur astronomer. In 1869 he moved from Chesham, Buckinghamshire, to become an assistant to John Browning FRAS, a renowned nineteenth century telescope and optical instrument manufacturer in London. Charles spent 13 years working for Browning and wrote (in his journal "50 Years") that he became an expert in silvering mirrors.
