Drawings of the Sun, Moon and Planets observed by Charles Grover Volume 2
This book was labelled by Charles, "Drawings of the Sun, Moon and Planet (sic) Volume 2." In fact it contains a lot more than drawings of the Solar system. It includes comets, nebulae and variable stars, and all the observations are described in detail. The observations are most detailed for the period from 1862 to 1882, but there are some later additions and the last date recorded was 17 August 1911.
This is not a book that has a beginning, middle and end, nor does it have 'chapters' in the conventional sense. It seems that the pages were numbered by Charles as he went along, and, consequently, there are several confusing aspects to the end result. Some numbers do not exist at all, there are places where a number ought to appear but does not, there are a number of completely blank pages, and one number is duplicated on the page following.
It may seem that a page is missing, but all pages with content are included in this presentation in the order in which they appear in the book. Looking through the pages is easy using the Forward and Back arrows, with links provided to later pages where the subject is continued. Short cuts are also provided where reference is made to another page. Alternatively there is a Fast Find facility at the bottom of most pages which enables you to select any page.
